The Collection
How We Restore
Sourcing
We look for pieces with character, useful proportions and construction worth preserving. Age, material and condition vary from piece to piece.
Assessment
Each piece is assessed on its own terms. Some need structural repair. Others call for stripping, refinishing, upholstery, paint or a more restrained intervention.
The Work
The treatment follows the piece. Original details are retained where appropriate, while new finishes, upholstery or replacement materials are identified clearly on the product page.
The Record
We separate what is known from what is uncertain. Where maker, date, origin or material cannot be confirmed, we say so. Product pages also record the restoration work carried out where that information is available.

The Oak Chest of Drawers
AS FOUND
The chest arrived under a heavy purple paint finish, with a later mirror fitted above the top. The solid oak carcass and dovetail-joined drawers remained intact beneath the alterations.
"This treatment suited this chest. Elsewhere in the collection, restoration may mean ebonising, painting, reupholstering, conserving an existing surface or exposing natural timber. The approach changes with the piece."
Ask About a Piece
Ask about availability, price, measurements, condition or delivery, or arrange to see a piece in person. Viewings are by appointment in Cape Town. You do not need to book a viewing to ask a question.
